Plano Road from Korean World Mission Baptist Church.

“I can confirm that the purchase of the property has been completed,” Dr. Karim Abū Zaid said in a written response on behalf of AIM. He identified Salahuddin Future Academy as the purchaser.

The church’s website describes the congregation as Southern Baptist and lists the Richardson property as its campus. Abū Zaid signed a sworn court filing in March as Salahuddin Future Academy’s executive director and authorized agent, connecting the purchaser and AIM through the same representative.

Buyer sued to enforce sale

Salahuddin Future Academy sued Korean World Mission Baptist Church on February 26 in Dallas County’s 191st District Court. The lawsuit, case DC-26-03563, alleged that the church signed a contract on October 31, 2025, to sell the property for $3.8 million.

Salahuddin alleged that it paid $38,000 in earnest money and expected the transaction to close in May. The petition said the church later asserted that its pastor did not realize he had signed a sales contract, believed he was signing a listing agreement and lacked authorization from the church’s board of trustees.

The academy disputed that account. It alleged that the pastor discussed the proposed sale with church leaders, said he was obtaining the required approvals and later confirmed the board’s approval.

Salahuddin accused the church of breaching the contract and asked the court to force the sale. It alternatively sought more than $1 million in damages.

Korean World Mission Baptist Church filed a general denial on March 27, disputing every allegation and demanding that Salahuddin prove its claims.

The case closed after Salahuddin filed a notice of nonsuit without prejudice on April 7. The filing did not explain why it dropped the claims, and the court did not rule on the merits.

AIM now says the purchase has been completed. Court records do not establish whether the property ultimately sold under the original $3.8 million terms.

Campus planned for school, seminary and mosque

AIM said the property will house Salahuddin Future Academy, a K-12 school; AIM Dawah Academy & Seminary; Ansar Pantry; and a mosque.

“AIM Dawah Academy & Seminary will offer higher Islamic education, Qur’anic studies, Arabic language instruction, leadership development, and community education,” the organization said.

AIM’s website calls the project “America’s first national residential Dawah seminary” and says its programs will include short intensive courses, a diploma in Islamic studies and a bachelor’s degree in Islamic studies.

Two days before its announced closing, AIM asked supporters to help raise a final $100,000 for the property.

“Every donation—large or small—brings us closer to establishing a place where future generations will learn the Qur’an, Sunnah, Arabic, and Islamic sciences,” the organization wrote on Facebook.

Video highlights church’s Christian past

AIM promoted the project in a Facebook video filmed outside the church property.

“This was used to train missionaries … to leave Islam,” a speaker said in the video.

During that portion of the video, the words “Muslim Haters!!” appeared on screen.

“The first of its time in the entire Western Hemisphere … where it is a Dallas Seminary,” the speaker said.

AIM described the video as an announcement for Muslim supporters about the completed purchase and a message of thanks to donors.

“Although it was intended for that audience, it was subsequently circulated more broadly on social media and received numerous hostile anti-Muslim comments,” the organization told The Dallas Express.

AIM said its mission focuses on education, community service and becoming a positive contributor to Richardson and the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

North Texas debate

The purchase comes amid continuing debate over Islamic institutions and Sharia in North Texas.

The debate also reached theaters and digital platforms in recent weeks. The documentary Remember The Alamo: Don’t Sharia My Texas premiered June 28 in Dallas before its digital release July 4, as previously reported by The Dallas Express. The film argues that Sharia poses a threat to American constitutional values and calls on communities to recognize and respond to Sharia-related influence.

At a July 18 open house at the Islamic Association of Collin County, Muslim outreach leader Dr. Sabeel Ahmed said Sharia “is already here,” describing it as personal religious guidance practiced through charity, family responsibilities and individual conduct, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

Outside the event, Iran-born Christian Edwin Isagholi warned about Islamic law when religious authority gains political power.

“Islam becomes offensive the minute it takes power,” Isagholi told The Dallas Express. “That is when you see blasphemy laws kick in.
