BELLAIRE, Texas \u2013 A late-night fire tore through an apartment complex in Bellaire on Saturday night, prompting a three-alarm response and drawing dozens of firefighters to the scene, according to the Bellaire Fire Department.<\/p>\n
Crews were called around 9:30 p.m. to the Pont Alba apartments in the 4300 block of Bissonnet Street. <\/p>\n
Bellaire firefighters were joined by mutual aid from the West University Place Fire Department, Southside Place Fire Department and the Houston Fire Department.<\/p>\n
Officials said an estimated 16 apartment units were affected, though the number of residents impacted was not immediately clear. No civilian injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
One firefighter was taken to a local hospital to be treated for heat exhaustion, the department said.<\/p>\n
The American Red Cross was notified and a representative was dispatched to help residents. About 60 firefighters responded as crews worked to get the blaze under control.<\/p>\n
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. <\/p>\n
