El Pasoans can help local students head back to school with the supplies they need while checking out everything from classic cars to lowriders at a community benefit car show Sunday.<\/p>\n
Texas Medical Care Plans is hosting the Back To School Benefit Car Show on Sunday, July 26, beginning at 9 a.m. at Fox Plaza Shopping Center & Mercado, 5559 Alameda Ave. in El Paso.<\/p>\n
Hosted in partnership with Fox Plaza Shopping Center, The Secret Garden Market and the Southwest Lowrider Council, the event will benefit Terry’s Heart Foundation, whose mission is to help children receive essential school supplies before the start of the new school year.<\/p>\n
Community members are encouraged to donate supplies such as backpacks, notebooks , pencils, folders and other classroom essentials.<\/p>\n
The event includes classic cars, lowriders, muscle cars, trucks and custom vehicles, along with live music, food vendors, local shopping, family activities and community giveaways.<\/p>\n
“Our goal is to combine our community’s passion for automobiles with the opportunity to give back,” said Paul Acosta, marketing and events coordinator for Fox Plaza Shopping Center & Mercado. “Every backpack, notebook, and pencil donated helps a child begin the school year with confidence. We invite the entire community to join us for a day of family fun while supporting a great cause.”<\/p>\n
