Council approved a contract for the project Oct. 27, and construction is expected to run from December 2025 to January 2027, according to Plano\u2019s community investment program website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What you need to know<\/p>\n

Plano City Council members approved the $7.25 million contract<\/a> at an Oct. 27 meeting. The contract is planned to include:<\/p>\n

Replacing 5,200 feet of 6-inch and 8-inch waterlinesReconstructing street pavementInstalling barrier-free ramps along Rigsbee Drive, Laurel Lane and Trailridge DriveReplacing 2,310 linear feet of pavement and sidewalk ramps on Peppertree PlaceUpdating culverts and streambank stabilization efforts along streams adjacent to Rigsbee DriveThe contract was awarded to SYB Construction Co.<\/a>, alongside a $190,178 contract<\/a> for materials testing awarded to Terracon Consultants Inc.<\/p>\n

City documents<\/a> state that without the project, the neighborhood would continue facing deteriorating waterlines and pavement, street flooding during heavy rain, and worsening erosion threatening nearby properties.<\/p>\n

Plano City Council members recently adopted<\/a> an ordinance raising drainage utility rates for the first time since 2020 due to rising infrastructure costs and citywide erosion control needs.<\/p>\n

The new rates are expected to generate $1.67 million in additional revenue, according to city documents<\/a>.<\/p>\n
