National Weather Service Meteorologist Tom Bradshaw said this is likely to be one of the warmest periods in North Texas for the summer. <\/p>\n
The heat advisory is until Tuesday; however, Bradshaw said it will likely be extended through the week. He said the afternoon heat indices are above 105 to 110. <\/p>\n
\u201cIn addition to the hot temperatures, we have a fair amount of humidity in the air,\u201d he said. \u201cIt actually feels several degrees warmer, and so that\u2019s just adding to the impact on people.\u201d <\/p>\n
For people going out, he said to avoid going out during the hottest times of the day and stay out of the sun as much as possible. <\/p>\n
\u201cIf you have to be out, obviously, drink plenty of fluids,\u201d he said. \u201cDress in a way that reflects the light but also provides a lot of ventilation.\u201d <\/p>\n
