Nextdoor, the community-minded app beloved by NIMBYS<\/a> everywhere, has released its 2025 list of the friendliest neighborhoods in Dallas. <\/p>\n The findings are based mostly on engagement between neighbors, but highlight things like diversity, parks<\/a> and dog-friendliness as well. The ranking also features affordability scores.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen people are considering where to live in Dallas, they want to know more than just the statistics \u2014 they want to understand what it\u2019s really like to be part of that community,\u201d Kelsey Grady, head of communications at Nextdoor, said in a statement. \u201cThese rankings are rooted in real neighbor interactions, giving people a window into where communities are truly thriving.\u201d<\/p>\n Nextdoor says its methodology for the friendliness scores is based on six factors: <\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\tWill you step up to support Dallas Observer this year?\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWe\u2019re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. Lake Highlands rounded out the top 10 with a friendliness score of 85, meanwhile. If you\u2019re seeking new, nicer horizons, you can check out the full list<\/a>.<\/p>\n 5. Skillman Street<\/p>\n This street runs all the way from Live Oak near Lakewood to Forest Lane north of 635, so this might not be the slice of Skillman you\u2019re thinking of. Nextdoor defines this neighborhood<\/a>, specifically, as \u201cnortheast of Vickery Meadow and southwest of Lake Highlands Estates in Dallas.\u201d OK, sure, fine. The app says neighboring waterways such as Jackson Branch Creek and White Rock Lake make this an ideal enclave for its 146 residents.<\/p>\n 4. Woods \u2013 Sugarberry<\/p>\n This one literally sounds like a TV show\u2019s version of a friendly, idyllic neighborhood, so the name alone checks out if you ask us. The southern Dallas neighborhood<\/a> located near Interstate 20 and Belt Line Road earned marks for \u201cclean, tree-lined\u201d streets and overall family friendliness. Residents of Sugarberry list walking as one of their top interests on the app, which makes sense being that this one is a little more suburban.<\/p>\n 3. Buckner Terrace<\/p>\n Tucked into one of the eastern most pockets of sprawling East Dallas, Buckner Terrace<\/a> scored an 89 on friendliness and a 98 on affordability. Nextdoor says it\u2019s a close-knit community (over 12,000 residents, though) and praises the neighborhood\u2019s diversity and easy access to downtown. One of the neighborhood\u2019s recent posts claimed to have seen a shirtless man sitting on someone\u2019s mailbox, though, so maybe they\u2019re a little too friendly around there. Interestingly, the Dallas Cowboys made Buckner Terrace residents\u2019 list of top interests, so if you\u2019re a fellow glutton for disappointment, start bookmarking on Zillow now.<\/p>\n 2. White Rock East\/Truett<\/p>\n If you\u2019re looking for very active neighbors, apparently East Dallas is where you\u2019ll find them. This might be the least surprising entry on the list, as anyone who lives near White Rock Lake refuses to miss an opportunity to strike up a conversation about the fact that they can walk to it. Excellent eats like Goodfriend and the just-departed Be Home Soon<\/a> (RIP) sit around the corner, so these residents have no excuse not to be friendly, really. Nextdoor\u2019s ranking of this one<\/a> emphasizes the quieter, residential energy surrounding it.<\/p>\n 1. South Winnetka Heights<\/p>\n
