{"id":388997,"date":"2026-07-28T11:38:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-28T11:38:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/388997\/"},"modified":"2026-07-28T11:38:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-28T11:38:09","slug":"texas-teen-killed-in-deadly-boat-crash-off-gulf-coast-authorities-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/388997\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas teen killed in deadly boat crash off Gulf coast, authorities say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Texas authorities are investigating a fatal boat crash that killed a 16-year-old boy Saturday in\u00a0Kleberg County, about 20 miles south of Mustang Island.<\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/tpwd.texas.gov\/newsmedia\/releases\/?req=20260726a\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">news release<\/a> from the Texas Parks &amp; Wildlife Department, Texas Game Wardens from Nueces and Kleberg counties responded around\u00a06:15 a.m. to a report of a boat collision near the Bird Island Basin boat ramp on the Laguna Madre.<\/p>\n<p>The crash involved a\u00a0jon boat and a center-console boat. Three people, including the 16-year-old, were aboard the boat when it collided with the other vessel, ejecting the teenager into the water. He died as a result of the crash, according to Texas Parks and Wildlife.<\/p>\n<p>The Texas Game Warden Boat Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the cause of the collision.
