It seems like a good bet Joe Rogan will not be voting for James Talarico (D).<\/p>\n
The podcast star-turned-Texan said he does not want The Lone Star state to be controlled by Democrats on the Tuesday episode of his show.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe liberals who want to turn Texas Blue, like, don\u2019tttt,\u201d Rogan pleaded. \u201cYou\u2019re going to ruin it. You\u2019re going to ruin it for you, too.\u201d<\/p>\n
He told guest his guest, Animal Planet star Forrest Galante, the liberals in Texas are \u201cway less crazy\u201d than those in\u00a0Los Angeles or New York. But he said would still prefer Texas stay Red, and only have a few dashes of Blue mixed in.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a saying about Austin: Keep Austin Weird and Surrounded,”\u201d Rogan said.<\/p>\n
Galante asked what he meant by \u201csurrounded.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSurrounded by red people,\u201d Rogan explained. \u201cLike, it\u2019s all Red states around you and it\u2019s this pocket of Blue that\u2019s in the center of this Red state. I think that\u2019s good for everybody. I think that\u2019s good, it\u2019s a balance.\u201d<\/p>\n
But a fair amount of Texans don\u2019t agree with him, apparently. A new poll<\/a> showed Talarico \u2014 a Democratic state representative \u2014 has a five-point lead on Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) in the state\u2019s Senate race.<\/p>\n Rogan can relax a bit, even if Talarico<\/a> wins. The state\u2019s other Senate seat will still be held by Ted Cruz (R) until the end of 2030, and Republican Gov. Greg Abbott has a lead in the gubernatorial race in all 17 polls<\/a> tracked by The New York Times. So the Blue revolution appears unlikely, at least for another few years.<\/p>\n Rogan continued by saying Austin is a great place to live because it\u2019s a \u201cliberal city surrounded by like hardcore Republicans with guns and tigers!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd it works!\u201d Galante chimed in.<\/p>\n \u201cIt works!\u201d Rogan echoed. \u201cIt makes for nice people, it\u2019s a good mix.\u201d<\/p>\n Watch above.<\/p>\n
