Three women were shot outside a convenience store in Houston’s Sunnyside neighborhood Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
The women were recovering at a local hospital, according to Lt. R. Willkens with the Houston Police Department.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He said the shooting took place around 9 p.m. in the 9100 block of Scott Street.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Two of the victims, in their mid-30s, were on foot in the parking lot and each was shot in the arm,” he said. “A third female, in her 40s, was in a vehicle. She was hit in the hand, left the location and was down the road. They were all transported to the hospital and will all be OK.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
Our officers were nearby, heard the shooting and arrived quickly.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“They heard possibly 30 rounds of rapid fire, maybe a rifle,” he said. “The rounds came from a grassy area across from the convenience store and the suspect\u00a0possibly fled on foot.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
The area was searched by police but no suspects were apprehended.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Quite a few rounds were shot toward the store,” he said. A cooler inside the store was struck.<\/p>\n
Houston police would continue to investigate the shooting, he said. \u00a0<\/p>\n
