Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service<\/a>, in partnership with Legacy Ag Credit, ACA, will host the East Texas Forage Conference on Aug. 14 in Hallsville.<\/p>\n

The event will be from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Gold Hall, 101 Elm St.<\/p>\n

The registration fee is $20 per person, payable by cash or check at the door. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by Aug. 7 by contacting the AgriLife Extension office in Gregg County at 903-236-8429.<\/p>\n

The conference is designed for ranchers, livestock producers, landowners and agricultural professionals seeking the latest research-based information on forage production, livestock management, pest control, conservation and market outlooks.<\/p>\n

Participants can earn four Texas Department of Agriculture<\/a> continuing education units, CEUs, including one general and three integrated pest management, IPM, credits.<\/p>\n

Lunch will be provided courtesy of Legacy Ag Credit.<\/p>\n

Emerging tick issues and best management practices, Thomas Hairgrove, DVM, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension veterinary specialist and professor,\u00a0Department of Animal Science<\/a>, \u00a0Bryan-College Station.<\/p>\n

Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association membership benefits, Sara Mullens, local outreach coordinator, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.<\/p>\n

Texas conservation and sustainability initiatives, Julie Howe, Ph.D., professor of soil chemistry and fertility and associate department head, Department of Soil and Crop Sciences<\/a>.<\/p>\n
