Surprisingly, despite a 3-5-1 record, the Dallas Cowboys<\/a> were one of the most active teams at the NFL trade deadline. They completed two trades. One was for an All-Pro defensive tackle in Quinnen Williams, for whom the Cowboys gave up a first-round pick. The other was for Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson, who recently lost his starting role in Cincinnati. <\/p>\n

Chances are, Wilson will regain his starting role in Dallas, and Williams is bound to have a featured role in the starting lineup too. Yet, the bigger talking point at the end of the season may be on the move the Cowboys didn\u2019t make, where they had a chance to upgrade their defense even further.<\/p>\n

According to ESPN\u2019s Dan Graziano<\/a>, the Cowboys were also close to a trade that would have sent Quinnen\u2019s brother, All-Pro linebacker Quincy Williams to Dallas. However, as we now know, the deal didn\u2019t work out, and Graziano wasn\u2019t able to offer a reason why. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s possible that New York\u2019s asking price was just too high for Quincy. Yet, considering he\u2019s also been benched in New York, we can\u2019t imagine the price was too high for a player who is no longer a big part of their immediate plans. <\/p>\n

The Cowboys wound up dealing for Wilson to address their linebacker needs instead, giving up a 2026 seventh-round pick in exchange for the 29-year-old former third-round pick. While we may never know what the Jets were asking for to part with Quincy, it will be hard not to compare Wilson with Williams, who\u2019s also 29, for years to come. <\/p>\n
