MIAMI \u2014 A Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers tip led to the arrest of a Texas man in a video-recorded attack on a Hard Rock Cafe server<\/a> at Bayside Marketplace in downtown Miami, according to police.<\/p>\n

Daniel Ramirez, 47, of Lubbock, Texas, was taken into custody by the Miami Police Department Friday morning at a Royal Caribbean cruise terminal at PortMiami. He\u2019s facing a felony battery charge.<\/p>\n

Miami police said the incident happened on Sunday evening after the employee spotted Ramirez \u201cinside an employee-only area consuming garnishes\u201d and told him not to eat them.<\/p>\n

Authorities said Ramirez responded, \u201cB—-, what do you want me to do, spit it out?\u201d and both left the bar area.<\/p>\n

However, according to an MPD arrest report, the server\u2019s manager called her back over after Ramirez made a complaint.<\/p>\n

\u201cAccording to the victim, (Ramirez) told the manager that no woman was allowed to tell him what to do and that the victim needed to be reprimanded,\u201d the arrest report states.<\/p>\n

Police said the manager told the server to pretend like she was being reprimanded.<\/p>\n

Authorities said later, after the victim went inside through the front entrance to talk to another employee, Ramirez \u201cforcefully shoved her, causing her to fall into a metal garment rack.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a result of the fall, the victim struck her (head) and chipped one of her front teeth,\u201d the report states.<\/p>\n

She was able to snap photos of him before he left, police said, but when Ramirez \u201crealized she was photographing him, he turned around, struck the cellular phone out of her hand, pushed her in the face and caused her to fall to the ground\u201d and lose consciousness. Ramirez fled, police said.<\/p>\n

According to the report, an MPD officer \u201cattempted to interview the family who had remained at the table with the defendant in an effort to obtain (Ramirez\u2019s) identity,\u201d but they all refused to cooperate or provide information.<\/p>\n

Police said after receiving the Crime Stoppers tip, they were able to identify Ramirez and the victim picked him out of a lineup.<\/p>\n

At around 6:40 a.m. Friday, police said U.S. Customs and Border Protection informed MPD that they apprehended Ramirez at the port.<\/p>\n

Investigators said Ramirez, upon being apprehended, \u201cspontaneously stated that he had \u2018run into a lady.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Police said he later declined to speak with MPD investigators.<\/p>\n

As of Friday afternoon, Ramirez was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with a bond listed as \u201cto be set\u201d in online jail records.<\/p>\n
