Mesa St. and peeping into a stall.

Questions

It is unclear what happened in the investigations surrounding those previous incidents at Rudy’s.

The cases were opened by the El Paso Police Department, but according to the affidavit, investigators found that they were inactive.

According to the affidavit, the investigator reached out to EPPD to adopt the case where Ponce allegedly recorded the woman inside the Rudy’s restaurant.

KFOX14/CBS4 reached out to EPPD to learn why the cases were inactive. And while police couldn’t comment on the cases, an EPPD spokesperson told us that when a case is “inactive,” it doesn’t mean it’s closed, but just that, for various reasons, like lack of information, the investigation has been paused.

Below is EPPD’s full statement:

An inactive case is not a closed case, and there can be many reasons why a case is inactive. I can’t tell you the exact reason for the cases you are inquiring about, however some reasons could be that the investigator has paused the investigation pending more leads, there may not be enough workable information to make an arrest, all potential investigative steps have already been explored and sometimes there is limited cooperation from complainants or witnesses.Again, this is just in general and not specifically to the cases you are inquiring about. What’s next?

Jail records show Ponce was booked into the El Paso County Downtown Jail on Tuesday, where he was charged with two counts of voyeurism and one count of invasive visual recording.

According to jail records, Ponce remains in jail under a combined bond of $320,000.

Court records show a bond hearing is scheduled for Ponce for Thursday morning.

Sign up to receive the top interesting stories from in and around our community once daily in your inbox.

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Police documents show more “peeping tom” allegations against the 36-year-old man who was…

[12
138,140,139
post-393674","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-el-paso","tag-el-paso","tag-el-paso-headlines","tag-el-paso-news
["GET
