HOUSTON \u2013 A Houston funeral home director accused of stealing a dead man\u2019s estate stormed out of the Harris County criminal courthouse Friday morning, claiming to be a \u201ccelebrity\u201d who had nothing to say \u2014 then quickly changed course and started hurling insults.<\/p>\n
Unique Green is accused of posing as the wife of Lawrence Gammon after his death last summer and allegedly forging paperwork to claim his estate, which included his home, vehicles, and retirement accounts. <\/p>\n
Green was hired by Gammon\u2019s family to handle his funeral arrangements, according to records, but they grew suspicious after not receiving the services they paid for and sharing his personal information documents over email. <\/p>\n
Green speaks \u2014 briefly \u2014 outside court<\/p>\n
When asked how Green made an $800,000 bond earlier this week, Green offered no explanation. <\/p>\n
\u201cGet out of my face,\u201d Green said.<\/p>\n
Asked about forged documents prosecutors say were filed to steal Gammon\u2019s estate, Green had no answers. <\/p>\n
\u201cGet you some shoes that look good,\u201d Green said to the reporter wearing brown leather heels. \u201cDid your mother forge them?\u201d <\/p>\n
When asked about organs investigators allegedly found inside a Home Depot bucket during a raid of her Third Ward funeral home, Green told the reporter the organs \u201cwere for you to eat for lunch.\u201d<\/p>\n
Houston police raided Green\u2019s funeral home as part of the investigation in November 2025.<\/p>\n
Five felony charges, including license fraud<\/p>\n
Green faces five felony charges. In addition to allegedly forging paperwork to claim Gammon\u2019s estate, Green is also accused of forging paperwork submitted to the state funeral commission to obtain funeral director and embalming licenses, according to the source material.<\/p>\n
Green\u2019s attorney, Gilbert Villarreal, defended his client outside court.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe has always claimed her innocence, she\u2019s not guilty and there\u2019s an explanation for all this evidence against her,\u201d Villarreal said.<\/p>\n
Conditions of release<\/p>\n
Green is currently out of jail on bond. <\/p>\n
As a condition of release, Green is ordered not to engage \u2014 directly or indirectly \u2014 in planning any end-of-life services in Harris County. <\/p>\n
That order includes not accepting money for those services or holding out to be someone qualified to perform them.<\/p>\n
Court is next scheduled for early September.<\/p>\n
