EL PASO, Texas (KTSM<\/a>) \u2014\u00a0One person is dead after a crash late Thursday night, July 30 along Interstate 10 the state line, the El Paso County Sheriff\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n

Another person was arrested and is facing a charge of DWI with an underage passenger. <\/p>\n

The crash happened at about 11 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 10 East near Mile Marker 2 and snarled traffic until about 1 p.m. on Friday. <\/p>\n

The preliminary investigation indicates that a pickup truck was traveling east on Interstate 10 while towing a flatbed trailer. A car, traveling behind the pickup truck, struck the rear of the trailer and a vehicle that was being transported on the trailer.<\/p>\n

The driver of the car was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition. The passenger in the car suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, the Sheriff\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n

The person who was killed was identified as 75-year-old Silvia Resendez of El Paso.<\/p>\n

During the investigation, deputies also determined that the driver of the pickup, the vehicle that was rear-ended, was intoxicated. <\/p>\n

Twenty-nine-year-old Victor Alonso Saucedo-Torres was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with a child passenger under 15 years of old. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a bond of $7,500.<\/p>\n
