(KGNS) &#8211; Texas\u2019s annual Tax-Free Holiday begins Friday, Aug. 7, and runs through midnight Sunday, Aug. 9.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">During the holiday, most clothing, footwear, school supplies, and backpacks priced under $100 are exempt from sales tax. The exemption applies to purchases made in-store or online from a Texas retailer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Texas Comptroller\u2019s office said shoppers do not need an exemption certificate to take advantage of the savings.<\/p>\n<p>What does not qualify<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The exemption applies only to items purchased during the holiday window.
