Some air travelers out of Houston will soon have the opportunity to fly on one of the more sophisticated and tricked-out planes in the sky. United Airlines<\/a> is bringing its Boeing 787-9 with “elevated” interior to George Bush Intercontinental Airport<\/a> starting this fall.<\/p>\n

United unveiled what it’s calling the United Elevated interior for the Boeing 787-9 craft in May<\/a>. This interior, which is designed to meet the demands of a modern traveler, includes new business-class suites, 99 total premium seats and perks such as caviar service. It’ll start flying out of Bush airport Oct. 24 on flights to S\u00e3o Paulo\/Guarulhos Airport in Brazil, Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport in Australia, and\u00a0Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Japan, a United spokesperson told Chron.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 787-9 will start flying from Houston to London Heathrow Airport on Jan. 5.<\/p>\n

“We already deliver a superior international experience and fly to the most places across the Atlantic and Pacific\u2014these new innovations provide more premium experience overall, give customers even more reasons to choose United, and set our airline up to grow into the next decade and beyond,” said United EVP and Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Nocella in a statement.<\/p>\n

The aircraft includes United Polaris Studio suites, which will compose\u00a0the first row of each business-class section. These suites include, according to United, “eight, lie-flat, all-aisle-access seats” that have privacy doors; an extra ottoman seat;\u00a0Bluetooth connectivity; a 27-inch, 4K OLED screen; and heightened meal options including, yes,\u00a0Ossetra caviar service with Laurent-Perrier Cuv\u00e9e Ros\u00e9.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Unfortunately the other business-class and economy folks can’t indulge in the caviar, but they’re apparently\u00a0getting “expanded dining options,” according to United.<\/p>\n

The 206-foot-long Boeing 787-9<\/a> can seat up to 325 passengers, though with United’s overhaul it seats substantially fewer passengers. The United Elevated interior version of the 787-9 started flying this spring out of San Francisco International Airport. From San Francisco, passengers can fly the “elevated” 787-9 to Heathrow, plus Singapore Changi Airport and Zurich Airport in Switzerland.
