{"id":396497,"date":"2026-08-03T15:45:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T15:45:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/396497\/"},"modified":"2026-08-03T15:45:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T15:45:10","slug":"amarillo-police-chase-ends-in-officer-involved-shooting-texas-rangers-investigating","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/396497\/","title":{"rendered":"Amarillo police chase ends in officer-involved shooting; Texas Rangers investigating"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) \u2014 An early morning police chase ended in an officer-involved shooting in Amarillo.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the pursuit of a GMC pickup began around 4 a.m. Monday.<\/p>\n<p>DPS troopers and Potter County sheriff\u2019s deputies joined the chase, which ended near Skyline Drive and Angelus Drive.<\/p>\n<p>An officer-involved shooting occurred at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>DPS has not said whether the suspect was injured or killed.<\/p>\n<p>The Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting.<\/p>\n<p>This is a developing story.
