(KLTV) &#8211; On Monday, the Dallas Cowboys put the pads on for the first time since they arrived in Oxnard, California, for training camp.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Head coach Brian Schottenheimer said before practice that the idea is to wrap up but not take your teammate to the ground.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">After individual drills and special teams work, it was time for the offense and defense to square off in the team segment. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The offense showed flashes of greatness with Dak Prescott leading the team. The Cowboys have been working on more screen plays and executed a couple of long plays from screen passes. CeeDee Lamb was able to make a couple of nice grabs on the sidelines and the offensive line opened some holes for the running backs. Phil Mafah and Ryan Flournoy also made some big plays. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The defense was up to the challenge most of the day. Arp\u2019s DeMarvion Overshown blew up a toss play and knocked Hunter Luepke to the ground. Cobie Durant picked off a Prescott pass in the back of the end zone when the Cowboys were inside the red zone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">One player left the field due to injury. Tight end Princeton Fant appeared to injure his leg on a play. He was down on the field for several minutes before being helped to the trainer\u2019s tent. After a few minutes in the tent, he was carted off the field into the locker room. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Coach Schottenheimer should have an update on his status on Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KLTV.
