San Antonio-founded\u00a0H-E-B has plans for yet another Texas store. Plans for the massive new grocery spot\u00a0are coming to light after the company submitted a project filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR<\/a>).<\/p>\n

According to a report filed late Monday, August 3, H-E-B is bringing its beloved produce, household items, and fresh bakery goods to Royse City, roughly 30 miles from Dallas. Folks will soon see it take shape at 5048 Interstate 30 in Rockwall County, per the TDLR.<\/p>\n

“H-E-B is excited to begin construction on our Royse City location shortly after the first of the year,” an H-E-B spokesperson tells MySA. “Some site grading and infrastructure work will start [in] the fall.”<\/p>\n

Customers truly won’t have to wait long to see progress on the land. Construction is expected to begin in the first week of the New Year, per the TDLR report. Crews will build it from the ground up, as nothing is currently in the future\u00a0H-E-B’s place. Upon completion, the store will span 139,271 square feet, according to online records. Crews are estimated to complete construction by January 28, 2028.<\/p>\n

Project leaders are betting big on the location’s success. The filing states that the development will cost approximately $39,940,268 to bring to life.\u00a0All\u00a0TDLR filings are subject to change without notice.<\/p>\n

Some residents in Royse City have been waiting decades for this. Currently, there are no H-E-B stores<\/a> open in town; the nearest is at 1600 E. Interstate 30 in the City of Rockwall. The chain has been showing a lot of love for North Texas in recent months. New groceries are also headed for Carrollton<\/a> and Dallas proper.<\/a> Some competitors, including Walmart<\/a> and Kroger, have matched its interest<\/a> in the region by submitting their own multi-million-dollar investment plans.<\/p>\n
