More than 100 Dallas-based artists will turn Deep Ellum into a citywide stage on November 22, when the Deep Ellum Block Party returns for its second year \u2014 celebrating the neighborhood\u2019s historic role as the cradle of Dallas music.<\/p>\n
The daylong cultural celebration honors the neighborhood\u2019s century-long legacy as Dallas\u2019 musical birthplace and follows renewed efforts to revitalize Deep Ellum\u2019s nightlife district after years of safety and economic concerns. Organizers say<\/a> the growing turnout shows the area\u2019s reputation as Dallas\u2019 creative hub is thriving again.<\/p>\n Dallas heavy metal band Mothership and country-folk artist Joshua Ray Walker will headline the festivities. The reunion of hip-hop group A.Dd+ and performances by Tye Harris & Cure for Paranoia highlight the eclectic bill.<\/p>\n Activities begin at noon with a district-wide scavenger hunt and outdoor market. Artist Dan Colcer will paint murals in Deep Ellum Blues Alley while the Community Center hosts a \u201cBehind the Music\u201d exhibition on historic venues.<\/p>\n Three Links will host a fish fry fundraiser benefiting SOCK (Saving Our Community with Kindness). The nonprofit provides assistance to local residents experiencing homelessness.<\/p>\n Live music kicks off at 3 p.m. with Branoofunck performing a special daytime set at Club Dada. Dallas Entertainment Awards founder Dezi 5 will lead colorful neighborhood tours before the main performances begin.<\/p>\n A Wine Walk begins at 4 p.m., celebrating Kettle Art Gallery\u2019s 20th anniversary. Four additional galleries will showcase new works while Madison King and Big Techs perform outside Merit Coffee.<\/p>\n The evening\u2019s main music programming starts at 6 p.m. across participating venues. Sets will continue throughout the night, featuring both established local legends and emerging talent.<\/p>\n Local restaurants and bars are offering special deals to fuel attendees through the marathon event. Participating establishments include AllGood Cafe, Adair\u2019s, Elm Street Saloon, and Sons of Hermann Hall.<\/p>\n
