EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 El Paso County is moving forward with a new headquarters building at Ascarate Park, a project tied to the 2024 voter-approved Capital Improvement Bond and aimed at improving access to park services.<\/p>\n
A groundbreaking ceremony happened Wednesday near the entrance of the Ascarate Annex at 301 Manny Martinez Drive in El Paso. <\/p>\n
The planned facility is a single-story building of about 8,000 square feet and will serve as the central administrative office for the El Paso County Parks & Recreation Department.<\/p>\n
County officials said relocating the administrative offices closer to the park entrance will make it easier for visitors to reach staff for reservations, permits, information and other services without having to navigate through the park, improving convenience and the overall visitor experience.<\/p>\n
The county said that in June 2025, Commissioners Court approved the first issuance of funds from the voter-approved General Obligation Bonds, allowing construction to move forward on projects across the county. <\/p>\n
Since then, El Paso County has continued delivering bond-funded improvements intended to enhance parks, recreation and quality of life for residents.<\/p>\n
