The South Carolina product was drafted in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Mukuamu played for Mike McCarthy in Dallas from 2021-23, playing in 33 games. He appeared in one game in 2025 with the Carolina Panthers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">The Steelers released veteran safety Darnell Savage late last week and signed former Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars safety Rayshawn Jenkins. Pittsburgh is very thin at safety, which is the reason for the veteran signings. Jalen Ramsey is on the PUP list, leaving Pittsburgh with starters Jaquan Brisker and DeShon Elliott, who has been limited throughout portions of training camp.
