{"id":399195,"date":"2026-08-06T11:00:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T11:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/399195\/"},"modified":"2026-08-06T11:00:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T11:00:13","slug":"arlington-restaurant-closed-after-roach-infestation-found","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/399195\/","title":{"rendered":"Arlington restaurant closed after roach infestation found"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One Arlington restaurant was temporarily closed, and another failed the July 26-Aug. 1 health inspections, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.<\/p>\n<p>Tandoor Indian Restaurant, located at 1200 N. Fielder Road, scored 76 on July 31. Inspectors found issues with unsafe food storage, improper labeling and an overall lack of cleanliness, according to a city of Arlington spokesperson. There was also an active roach infestation, which prompted the city to close the facility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe pest activity adjacent to the food preparation area posed an immediate high risk,\u201d the spokesperson said in an email.<\/p>\n<p>A follow-up inspection was conducted Aug. 5, and Tandoor Indian Restaurant was allowed to reopen.<\/p>\n<p>Arlington restaurants are scored on a 100-point system, with 100 being a perfect score. Restaurants and other places that serve food that score 75 or less require a follow-up inspection, and a score of 70 is considered extremely poor.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant portion of Chicas Locas, a strip club located at 2711 Majesty Drive, received a failing score of 65 on July 28. The spokesperson said there were several critical health violations, including dirty food-contact surfaces, poor employee hygiene practices and equipment that needed cleaning or replacement. A follow-up inspection has already been scheduled.<\/p>\n<p>Data from the city shows that the Chicas Locas restaurant failed inspection twice in 2025 and once in 2024.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:McClatchy Sans;margin-bottom: 8px;\">Here are the inspection scores and violations for restaurants within the city limits of Arlington for July 26th &#8211; Aug. 1st, 2026 A score of 100 is a perfect score and 70 is considered to be extremely poor. Reinspections will be conducted for restaurants that score 75 or less. If serious health and sanitation violations are considered an imminent health hazard, the restaurant will be closed until the identified health hazard has been mitigated.
