{"id":39931,"date":"2025-11-07T18:51:13","date_gmt":"2025-11-07T18:51:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/39931\/"},"modified":"2025-11-07T18:51:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T18:51:13","slug":"a-major-closure-is-happening-on-one-of-north-texas-busiest-highways","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/39931\/","title":{"rendered":"A major closure is happening on one of North Texas&#8217; busiest highways"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A major Dallas traffic closure is happening this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>DALLAS \u2014 One of the busiest stretches of highway in North Texas will have major closures this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Eastbound Interstate 635 (LBJ Freeway) will have four out of its five main lanes closed continuously between Preston Road and Park Central Drive from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. A single left lane will remain open during the closure, and the TEXpress lanes in that stretch will be open and free to use, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.<\/p>\n<p>Crews are closing the lanes for periodic resurfacing maintenance work, &#8220;ensuring a safe, smooth roadway for drivers,&#8221; Robert Hinkle, director of corporate affairs for LBJ Infrastructure Group, said in a press release. Crews will also be doing maintenance work on the Park Central Drive bridge.<\/p>\n<p>Even with the TEXpress lanes open, officials warned drivers to expect significant delays this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers can avoid the closure by entering the TEXpress lanes at Interstate 35E north and south, Webb Chapel Road and Preston Road.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A major Dallas traffic closure is happening this weekend.
