A shared-use path will also be added.<\/p>\n<p>Update: Utility relocations are underway from FM 1460 to Southwestern Boulevard. The advertising and bidding process will follow.<\/p>\n<p>Timeline: 2026-28\ufeff\ufeffCost: $70.6 million\ufeff\ufeffFunding sources: city of Georgetown, Georgetown Transportation Enhancement Corp.<\/p>\n<p>Ongoing projects<\/p>\n<p>Shell Road widening<\/p>\n<p>Project: The city will widen Shell Road from Williams Drive to Sycamore Street to four lanes with a raised median, shared-use path, and left- and right-turn lanes.<\/p>\n<p>Update: As of June, the majority of utility work has been completed. Crews are working on paving.<\/p>\n<p>\ufeff\ufeffTimeline: January 2026-December 2027\ufeff\ufeffCost: $19 million\ufeff\ufeffFunding source: city of Georgetown<\/p>\n<p>Rockride Lane<\/p>\n<p>Project: Rockride Lane is being upgraded to a two-lane collector with a continuous center left-turn lane and a 10-foot-wide shared-use path from SE Inner Loop to Sam Houston Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Update: The contractor has begun work to install the permanent signal at the Sam Houston and Rockride Intersection.<\/p>\n<p>\ufeff\ufeffTimeline: 2025-26\ufeff\ufeffCost: $12 million\ufeff\ufeffFunding source: city of Georgetown<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/georgetown\/transportation\/construction-on-austin-avenue-bridges-in-georgetown-to-resume\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Austin Avenue vehicular bridges<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Project: This project includes reconstruction of two vehicular bridges crossing the San Gabriel River.<\/p>\n<p>Update: The southbound Austin Avenue bridge decks were demolished starting in early June, and reconstruction will take approximately two months. The contractor will then do the northbound bridge decks.<\/p>\n<p>\ufeff\ufeffTimeline: 2024-27\ufeff\ufeffCost: $12.8 million\ufeff\ufeffFunding sources: city of Georgetown, developer fees<\/p>\n<p>Completed projects<\/p>\n<p>DB Wood Road Phase 1<\/p>\n<p>Project: The project adds four lanes, a center turn lane and a shared-use path from Hwy. 29 to Oak Ridge Road.<\/p>\n<p>Update: The project is substantially complete, and all four lanes of traffic are open.
