Miranda Lambert, Charley Crockett, Kirk Franklin and the Dallas String Quartet are among the North Texas nominees for the 68th annual Grammy Awards, announced Friday.<\/p>\n

Lambert \u2014 who lived in Van Alstyne, north of Dallas, before moving to Lindale \u2014 scored four nominations, including two in the same category. She\u2019ll compete against herself for the country duo\/group performance award for \u201cTrailblazer,\u201d her collab with Reba McEntire<\/a> and Lainey Wilson<\/a>, and \u201cA Song to Sing,\u201d her duet with Chris Stapleton.<\/p>\n

\u201cA Song to Sing\u201d also earned Lambert a country song award nomination as a co-writer. She\u2019s also in the running for the contemporary country award with Postcards from Texas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Crockett\u2019s Dollar A Day<\/a> is up for traditional country album, competing with two Nelsons \u2014 Willie and Lukas. It\u2019s Crockett\u2019s second nomination to date, after a nod last year in the same category for $10 Cowboy.<\/p>\n

Twenty-time Grammy winner Kirk Franklin<\/a> is up for the gospel performance\/song Grammy for \u201cDo It Again.\u201d It\u2019s the Fort Worth artist\u2019s 33rd nomination since 1996.<\/p>\n

The Dallas String Quartet scored its first nod for According to the Moon, a collaboration with Cheryl Engelhardt and Australian artist GEM, in the new age\/ambient\/chant album category.<\/p>\n

Violist Ion Zanca founded the quartet in 2007 at Southern Methodist University. Billing itself as \u201cBach meets Bon Jovi,\u201d the group blends strings with drums and guitar on tunes by Taylor Swift<\/a> and Guns N\u2019 Roses<\/a>. They play Dec. 17 at the Winspear Opera House.<\/p>\n

The Grammy ceremony takes place Feb. 1 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
