Greenville Ave. as surplus property. The resolution authorizes district officials to advertise the property for sale or exchange, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/meetings.boardbook.org\/Documents\/CustomAgendaForMeeting\/855?meeting=747040\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">district documents<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The property currently contains two buildings and several parking lots, Assistant Superintendent of Operations Brent Benningfield said. Allen ISD purchased the land in 2018 as student enrollment was increasing, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was determined that that property might be needed in the future for additional parking or expansion of the Lowery Freshman Center,\u201d Benningfield said. \u201cObviously, a lot has happened since 2018.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Allen ISD\u2019s enrollment <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/allen\/education\/allen-isd-enrollment-declines-again-in-2025\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">peaked in 2022 and has declined each year<\/a> since due to a number of factors, according to a report from School District Strategies. District officials are recommending the sale of the property due to declining enrollment and increases in unfunded mandates passed by the state, Benningfield said.<\/p>\n<p>The details<\/p>\n<p>District officials will publish a public notice of the proposed sale, Benningfield said. Once bids are submitted, district officials and board members will review them in closed session, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe board is not bound to consider price as the only factor for the selling of the property,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Board members can select a bid with a lower-priced offer if there were \u201cmore desirable aspects,\u201d such as a \u201cmore favorable land use,\u201d or less impact on district operations, Benningfield said. The board is under no obligation to accept any offers once proposals are received, according to the resolution.<\/p>\n<p>The Collin Central Appraisal District reported market value for the property at nearly $2.6 million in 2026, according to its <a href=\"https:\/\/esearch.collincad.org\/Property\/View\/1596963\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Allen ISD will accept offers to sell surplus property located near the Lowery Freshman Center.
