EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 An El Paso man is accused of sexually assaulting a teenager over an extended period, according to a complaint affidavit filed this week in El Paso County.<\/p>\n
Adam Salvador Martinez is accused of sexual assault of a child, according to the affidavit filed Aug. 3. The document lists the alleged offense period as Feb. 1, 2024, through June 30. <\/p>\n
According to the affidavit, investigators with the El Paso Police Department’s Crimes Against Children section became involved after receiving information about a walk-in sexual assault report at the department’s Westside Regional Command Center. A relative of the victim told officers the girl had disclosed that Martinez had been sexually assaulting her since she was 13, the filing states.<\/p>\n
Police said the girl, who was 17 when interviewed, was taken to the Advocacy Center for the Children of El Paso. <\/p>\n
During a recorded interview, the teenager told investigators that she had been involved in a sexual relationship with Martinez beginning when she was 13, according to the affidavit.<\/p>\n
The affidavit alleges the sexual contact continued after they moved from Fort Bliss to an El Paso address in February 2024, after the girl had turned 14. <\/p>\n
Investigators wrote that the teenager described repeated sexual encounters with Martinez, over 100 encounters, and alleged that some occurred while other family members who were also minors were home, the affidavit stated. <\/p>\n
The document also alleges Martinez took the girl to obtain birth control.<\/p>\n
According to investigators, the teenager said she eventually became uncomfortable with the encounters and told Martinez she did not want to continue. She alleged that Martinez ignored her objections and continued having sexual contact with her. <\/p>\n
She told detectives the most recent encounter occurred approximately two weeks before she traveled to California in June 2026, the affidavit states.<\/p>\n
The victim’s relative told detectives she had confronted Martinez after learning of the allegations, according to the filing. <\/p>\n
The affidavit states Martinez allegedly responded that the conduct began “since she was 13.” <\/p>\n
The relative told investigators that Martinez blamed the teenager and claimed she had initiated the relationship.<\/p>\n
Martinez was arrested Wednesday in west El Paso after a brief standoff, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Martinez was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a charge of Sexual Assault of a Child (Rape) with bond set at $150,000, according to the El Paso County Constable\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
