SAN ANTONIO \u2014 Drivers traveling along Loop 1604 can expect a series of overnight and daytime lane closures this week as work continues on the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project.<\/p>\n
No major closures were planned from Friday, Aug. 7, through Monday, Aug. 10, because of the tax-free weekend. However, increased nightly closures may occur following the temporary pause in daily closures.<\/p>\n
Most overnight work is scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. along portions of Loop 1604 stretching from Bandera Road to Judson Road.<\/p>\n
Between Bandera Road and Interstate 10, crews plan alternating intersection closures at Hausman Road, Kyle Seale Parkway, Babcock Road, Chase Hill Boulevard, La Cantera Parkway and Bandera Road. Mainlane, frontage road and ramp closures are also planned, with one lane remaining open where specified.<\/p>\n
Near the Loop 1604 and I-10 interchange, drivers can expect overnight closures on the main lanes and frontage roads on both highways. Work will affect I-10 between Camp Bullis and De Zavala roads and Loop 1604 around the interchange. Several frontage road, ramp, and intersection closures are also scheduled.<\/p>\n
Between I-10 and U.S. 281, overnight work includes Loop 1604 mainlane and frontage road closures, along with closures affecting Blanco, Vance Jackson and Lockhill Selma roads.<\/p>\n
Farther east, crews plan nighttime closures between Bulverde and Redland roads. A westbound Loop 1604 mainlane closure from U.S. 281 to Stone Oak Parkway is also scheduled from 9 p.m. to midnight Friday, Aug. 14.<\/p>\n
Between Redland and Judson roads, alternating overnight intersection closures are planned at Bulverde, O’Connor and Judson roads. Additional mainlane, frontage road and ramp closures are expected throughout the week.<\/p>\n
Several daytime closures are also scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. along portions of the project.<\/p>\n
Long-term closures include the eastbound I-10 frontage road left lane from La Cantera Parkway to the Loop 1604 interchange and the eastbound Loop 1604 entrance ramp after I-10, which is permanently closed. Loop 1604 U-turns in both directions at Bulverde Road are also closed.<\/p>\n
