Despite several sightings and rescue attempts, she managed to stay just out of reach of DAS officers.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday morning, DAS Officers Miller and Southerland found Mayonesa in a tree near an abandoned house. The officers watched her and waited for the right opportunity, DAS officials said.<\/p>\n<p>When she finally climbed down and walked past them, Officer Southerland carefully approached her from behind and captured her.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/raccoon-1.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tDallas Animal ServicesDallas Animal Services<\/p>\n<p>According to Dallas Animal Services, Mayonesa was lightly sedated, given fluids and medications, and finally freed from the jar. <\/p>\n<p>DAS officials said aside from dehydration after several days without food and water, she was in remarkably good condition and full of energy.<\/p>\n<p>Texas Metro Wildlife will provide Mayonesa with a few days of care before she is released back into the wild, DAS officials said. <\/p>\n<p>Dallas Animal Services reminded residents to dispose of jars, cans, and other containers responsibly because everyday household items can become dangerous when they end up in the environment.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/raccoon-4.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tDallas Animal ServicesDallas Animal Services<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A sticky situation in Dallas had a happy ending for one raccoon named Mayonesa.
