The win moves Houston\u00a0to within\u00a0two points\u00a0of\u00a0first place in the MLS Western Conference.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Houston\u00a0has\u00a0not conceded a goal in\u00a0nearly\u00a0300\u00a0minutes\u00a0and\u00a0have\u00a0been the top team in the MLS Western Conference over the last 12 league matches, compiling\u00a0a\u00a08-2-2 record for 26 points over that stretch.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Attacker\u00a0Guilherme\u00a0netted his 11th\u00a0goal of the season in first half stoppage time, finding a loose ball on the edge of the six-yard box\u00a0to give Houston a 1-0\u00a0lead\u00a0heading into halftime. The Brazilian MLS All-Star has now\u00a0contributed\u00a0to\u00a018 of Houston\u2019s 26 goals this season,\u00a0becoming just the ninth player in MLS history to do so\u00a0for their club.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Attacking\u00a0midfielder\u00a0Mateusz Bogusz\u00a0fired a low, curling shot\u00a0from outside of the box\u00a0in the 37th\u00a0minute\u00a0that forced a\u00a0diving save from\u00a0New England\u00a0goalkeeper Matt Turner, getting\u00a0down to his left\u00a0to\u00a0send the ball behind goal.\u00a0<\/p>\n
H\u00e9ctor\u00a0Herrera\u00a0stung the palms of Turner in the 60th\u00a0minute, as Bogusz played a diagonal ball toward a streaking Herrera at the top of the box. HH hit\u00a0it\u00a0first time on the right foot, but Turner was\u00a0able to collect and go the other way.\u00a0<\/p>\n
