HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Two people are dead after two separate shootings in West Houston on Saturday night, police said.<\/p>\n
The Houston Police Department said they received calls reporting a man found unresponsive in a parking garage along Westheimer near Fondren at 11:45 p.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n
When HPD arrived, officers said they found the unresponsive man on the ground and another person standing over him, with a gun raised at the officers.<\/p>\n
Police said they told the person to put their gun down multiple times, and when they didn’t, multiple HPD officers shot the suspect.<\/p>\n
Investigators said the Houston Fire Department arrived and pronounced both people dead on the scene.<\/p>\n
HPD told ABC13 what led up to the final moments before the shooting and the aftermath.<\/p>\n
“They found a person standing over an unresponsive male. Officers gave commands to put down the weapon. The suspect was armed. The suspect did not comply. Multiple officers discharged. The suspect was struck. HFD responded. The suspect was pronounced deceased,” Associatant Chief of HPD Patricia Cantu said.<\/p>\n
Investigators haven’t revealed what may have led up to the first shooting that killed the man who was found unresponsive. Police also have not said if the person killed by police was the man’s killer.<\/p>\n
