A preliminary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/public-safety\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">investigation <\/a>found that the man entered Maple Avenue and was struck by a southbound SUV. The impact sent him into the northbound lane, where the autonomous vehicle hit him, police said.<\/p>\n<p>He was taken to a hospital, where he died. Authorities had not released his identity Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the SUV remained at the scene.
