Beauty professionals across the Southwest will have the chance to learn, shop, connect and get inspired when Premiere San Antonio <\/a>returns to the Henry B. Gonz\u00e1lez Convention Center August 30-31.<\/p>\n

Beauty correspondent Emily Elle Foley and Fort Worth-based hairstylist and educator Marquie Covington joined Sierra Waggoner on We Are Austin to preview the fourth annual event and share what beauty professionals can expect when the trade show takes over San Antonio.<\/p>\n

Premiere San Antonio is designed for licensed beauty professionals and students across all areas of the industry, including hair, lashes, nails, spa and makeup.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo Premiere San Antonio is known as the must-attend event for beauty professionals across the Southwest,\u201d Foley said. \u201cSo it’s for licensed beauty professionals and students in all facets of the beauty industry. So lashes, nails, spa, makeup, all of the things.\u201d<\/p>\n

The two-day event combines education, inspiration, shopping and networking, with Premiere partnering with Salon Centric this year to bring even more expert-led classes and opportunities for beauty professionals to grow their skills.<\/p>\n

For Covington, education is a major part of what makes Premiere special. She is launching a brand-new class at this year’s event called \u201cTerrified of Extensions,\u201d designed to give stylists an approachable introduction to working with extensions.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I first started in the hair world and extension world, I was terrified,\u201d Covington said. \u201cI decided to build a class that was a class I wish I had when I first started learning, and it’s the perfect startup class.\u201d<\/p>\n

The class will cover everything from the tools and hair to use to who to talk to and what questions to ask, giving stylists a foundation for getting started with extensions.<\/p>\n

Covington said Premiere San Antonio has also had a major impact on her own career. This will be her fourth year attending the event, and she has formed lifelong friendships and found mentors through the experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow I get to be that person for so many other people,\u201d Covington said.<\/p>\n

She also highlighted the opportunity for stylists to earn continuing education credits at the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can get my C credits in one day, which is what you need for continued education as a stylist,\u201d Covington said. \u201cAnd it really brings your spark back. So if you’re losing your spark, Premiere San Antonio is the place to be.\u201d<\/p>\n

Education goes beyond the individual classes. Foley said the event will also feature the Texas State Board this year, giving professionals an opportunity to make sure they’re taking the appropriate classes to meet licensing requirements.<\/p>\n

\u201cEducation is so important,\u201d Foley said. \u201cWe’re even gonna have the Texas State Board on hand this year, so that all the professionals can make sure they’re taking the exact right classes to make sure they have those licensing requirements.\u201d<\/p>\n

Premiere San Antonio is also expanding its entertainment and demonstration offerings this year, including a new demo stage alongside the main stage and color stage showcases.<\/p>\n

Attendees can also watch barber battles, take in Nailympia, a major international nail competition, and check out an Ulta brow service and ear-piercing lounge.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s like a music festival for beauty,\u201d Foley said.<\/p>\n

And while education is a major focus, the trade show also gives beauty professionals a chance to shop for the products and tools they use every day.<\/p>\n

More than 130 brands will be represented at the event, giving attendees an opportunity to discover products, learn about ingredients and connect with the brands behind them.<\/p>\n

Foley said brands including Living Proof, Color Wow, Bumble and Bumble and Lash Balm will be part of the show. Premiere is also bringing back its Value Center, which offers discounts on professional tools and products.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo this is really a space where you can get everything you need, but also really just bond and connect,\u201d Foley said.<\/p>\n

For beauty professionals, Premiere San Antonio <\/a>offers more than an opportunity to sharpen technical skills. The event is also about finding inspiration, building relationships and reconnecting with the passion that brought them to the industry in the first place.<\/p>\n
