CANUTILLO, TEXAS (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A traffic stop in Canutillo ended with a 37-year-old man in custody after deputies said he ran from officers on foot.<\/p>\n
According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at about 8:27 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 7000 block of Fourth Street after observing a vehicle with defective taillamps. <\/p>\n
Deputies identified the driver as 37-year-old Daniel Ocon, with a records check showing Ocon had an active criminal warrant for evading arrest with a motor vehicle, the sheriff\u2019s office said. <\/p>\n
After deputies learned of the warrant, Ocon fled the traffic stop on foot, leading deputies on a brief foot pursuit.<\/p>\n
Deputies located Ocon a short time later and took him into custody without further incident, according to the sheriff\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
Ocon was charged with evading arrest\/detention with previous convictions and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility. He was held without bond. <\/p>\n
