She\u2019ll visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lhumc.com\/oam\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lake Highlands United Methodist Church\u2019s Older Adult Ministry (OAM)<\/a> on August 12 to discuss her new book, Lakewood 1925-1985: A History of the Shopping Center.<\/p>\n<p>Judd grew up in the heart of Lakewood hearing her father\u2019s stories and watching the neighborhood change all around her. Her grandparents lived in a house which was eventually torn down to make way for today\u2019s Lakewood Public Library, and her research began with archives dating from the 1920s, where she found important events, including robberies and murders which occurred in the center. She interviewed residents and employees to find details of rarely heard stories.<\/p>\n<p>Judd\u2019s OAM presentation will begin at 1 p.m. in LHUMC\u2019s Fellowship Hall, where she will discuss people, places and landmarks which helped shape one of Dallas\u2019 best-loved neighborhoods.
