\nRice is set to open the 2026 campaign against Texas A&M on Wednesday evening at Holloway Field. The Owls are eyeing a third consecutive season-opening win.<\/p>\n

Preseason Honors

\nThree Owls represented Rice on the American Conference Preseason Watch List, with Jadyn Jaeger<\/a>, Lilly Reuscher<\/a> and Dayo Tennyson<\/a> all receiving honors. The Owls were picked third in the preseason coaches poll.<\/p>\n

Rice vs. Texas A&M

\nThis is the ninth meeting all-time between Owls and Aggies, with Texas A&M holding a 7-1 series lead. Rice’s lone win came during the 2020-21 season in a 3-2 overtime win over No. 15-ranked Aggies.<\/p>\n

\nThe Owls have defended Holloway Field fiercely as of late, going 15-2-3 at home over the last two seasons. Rice has a 146-60-24 all-time home record and is currently on a 10-game unbeaten streak at home against non-conference opponents (9-0-1).<\/p>\n

National Recognition

\nLilly Reuscher<\/a> was named to the 2026 United Soccer Coaches Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Watch List. Reuscher was an All-Conference Third Team selection last year, contributing to five shutouts by the Owl defense, and also earned Second Team All-Region honors.<\/p>\n

Cloud 10

\nRice has secured six 10-win seasons through Head Coach Brian Lee<\/a>‘s first seven seasons as head coach. Coach Lee’s 2020-21 squad tied the program record for wins in a season with 14.
