Her 11-year-old child, who was in the kitchen, and another person in a bedroom heard the confrontation, investigators said.

The other adult came out of the bedroom to help and approached the suspect, who pulled a handgun from his crossbody bag, according to the affidavit. The two adults then began fighting with the suspect over the gun. During the struggle, the suspect was struck multiple times and fell onto a coffee table. Investigators said he fired the handgun at least once during the confrontation, though the affidavit does not indicate anyone was struck by the gunfire.

The two adults eventually disarmed the man. One of them struck him twice with the handgun, while the woman hit him in the head with a dumbbell, according to the affidavit.

The suspect then ran from the apartment, leaving behind a wig, glasses and sandals that police collected as evidence.

Investigators interviewed the 11-year-old, who police said had taken a photograph of the suspect on a cellphone. Detectives also obtained surveillance video from the apartment complex that allegedly showed the suspect running away after the assault.

Police later identified McFadden as the suspect.

Aug. 6: 9-year-old threatened before Porsche stolen

The following morning, at about 9:10 a.m., officers responded to another robbery in progress, this time at a business in the 3500 block of Sunnyvale Street.

Police said a woman had parked her white Porsche Cayenne outside the business while her 9-year-old daughter remained inside the vehicle.

Investigators said McFadden arrived in a stolen Ford F-150, approached the Porsche and threatened the child while indicating he was armed. He ordered the girl out of the vehicle, police said. The girl got out of the Porsche and ran inside the business to alert her mother. When the girl’s mother confronted McFadden, police said he again indicated he was armed before stealing the Porsche and fleeing.

The Ford F-150 McFadden allegedly arrived in was left behind and was later confirmed to have been stolen, according to police.

The Porsche’s owner provided officers with real-time location information through the vehicle’s tracking application. Officers from multiple patrol divisions, covert units and the department’s Air One helicopter coordinated to locate the SUV.

Officer fires toward fellow officer during arrest

At about 10:10 a.m., police located the stolen Porsche in the 5800 block of Williamstown Road.

Uniformed officers initiated a felony traffic stop while a covert officer positioned an unmarked vehicle in front of the Porsche to prevent McFadden from leaving the area, police said.

The covert officer got out of the unmarked vehicle with his department-issued handgun drawn and moved toward a nearby residential yard. According to Dallas police, Officer Celso Rocha then fired four rounds toward the covert officer and McFadden.

Rocha recognized that the armed person was another police officer, stopped firing, and can be heard yelling, “Blue, Blue,” according to police.

McFadden then got out of the Porsche and surrendered without further incident.

No officers, McFadden or members of the public were injured.

Dallas police classified the incident as the department’s ninth officer-involved shooting of 2026. The department said its account is based on a preliminary investigation and could change as additional information is confirmed.

Investigators recovered a loaded handgun from inside the stolen Porsche. Police said additional evidence found in the vehicle is being examined as part of several ongoing violent crime investigations.

The arrest warrant affidavit in the East Ledbetter Drive case says investigators also found a blue backpack in the Porsche containing a black crossbody bag they believe McFadden wore during the previous day’s apartment assault. Investigators said McFadden was also wearing the same jewelry seen on the suspect in the child’s photograph and surveillance video.

One of the victims from the apartment later identified McFadden as the man who forced his way inside and assaulted them, according to the affidavit.

Police said McFadden is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm. The arrest affidavit also accuses him of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the East Ledbetter Drive incident.

Dallas police said detectives are pursuing additional charges related to other violent offenses under investigation.

A Dallas officer mistakenly fired toward a fellow officer during the arrest of a man accused in multiple…

[9
102,104,103
post-406178","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-dallas","tag-dallas","tag-dallas-headlines","tag-dallas-news
["GET
