Le Sol House could get its permit Wednesday. <\/a><\/p>\n

Nearly a year ago, we wrote about the neighborhood controversy surrounding Le Sol House<\/a>, an Oak Cliff hospitality house and members-only club. Some neighbors were irritated that it was operating in a neighborhood without the proper zoning. The owners said they were trying to navigate a \u201clong and expensive process.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

That seems to be nearing an end. After holding the matter under advisement until June 11, the City Plan Commission voted to recommend Le Sol\u2019s special use permit be approved for a year. (City staff had recommended three.) The matter will now go before the City Council on Wednesday, where the body could vote to approve the permit, either under the terms recommended by the CPC or the staff.<\/p>\n

Last year, Alice Laussade wrote about Le Sol House. At the time, the establishment, which occupied a home at the corner of Canty and Vernon, was embroiled in a bit of a feud with the Kidd Springs Neighborhood Association, which said Le Sol House violated city code by operating as a business and event space in a residential neighborhood. Most of the neighbors of the property told Alice that they did not find the club an irritant.<\/p>\n
