{"id":406792,"date":"2026-08-14T21:26:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-14T21:26:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/406792\/"},"modified":"2026-08-14T21:26:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-14T21:26:08","slug":"pedestrian-dies-after-being-hit-by-motorcycle-in-central-el-paso-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/406792\/","title":{"rendered":"Pedestrian dies after being hit by motorcycle in Central El Paso crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A pedestrian struck by a motorcycle in Central El Paso has died. <\/p>\n<p>El Paso police said officers responded to a single-vehicle crash at 1:42 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, in the 3700 block of Fred Wilson. <\/p>\n<p>The Special Traffic Investigations Unit was called to assist.<\/p>\n<p>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/kfoxtv.com\/news\/local\/2-suffer-life-threatening-injuries-in-motorcycle-crash-on-fred-wilson?src=link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">2 suffer life-threatening injuries in motorcycle crash on Fred Wilson<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Investigators said a person from Las Cruces, New Mexico, was riding a 2024 Kawasaki 500 eastbound in the 3700 block of Fred Wilson when the crash happened. <\/p>\n<p>Police said the pedestrian, 27-year-old Basheer Farajallah Younis of Northeast Texas, was crossing in a non-designated area at the time of the crash.<\/p>\n<p>Both were taken to the hospital. <\/p>\n<p>On Aug. 8, investigators said they were notified by the Medical Examiner\u2019s Office that Younis died as a result of his injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the death is El Paso\u2019s 33rd traffic fatality, compared with 36 at this time last year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kfoxtv.com\/sign-up\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Sign up<\/a> to receive the top interesting stories from in and around our community once daily in your inbox.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A pedestrian struck by a motorcycle in Central El Paso has died.
