{"id":407042,"date":"2026-08-15T03:42:11","date_gmt":"2026-08-15T03:42:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/407042\/"},"modified":"2026-08-15T03:42:11","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T03:42:11","slug":"22-people-found-hiding-under-trailer-floor-during-failed-human-smuggling-attempt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/407042\/","title":{"rendered":"22 people found hiding under trailer floor during failed human smuggling attempt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAREDO, Texas &#8211; Federal agents say 22 people were rescued after being found hidden in a compartment beneath the wooden floor of a flatbed trailer in South Texas.<\/p>\n<p>In a Facebook post, the United States Border Patrol said agents in the Laredo Sector saw a pickup truck towing a gooseneck flatbed trailer \u201ccircumvent an immigration checkpoint\u201d and \u201cimmediately alerted surrounding law enforcement agencies and sectors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Border Patrol said the trailer was intercepted in Carrizo Springs, Texas, where agents found \u201c22 illegal aliens crammed in a compartment underneath the wooden floor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Border Patrol, medical personnel cleared the people found in the trailer, and they are now being processed for deportation.
