HALLETTSVILLE, Texas – Arrest warrants have been served on two current Lavaca County Sheriff\u2019s Office jail inmates as investigators continue looking into contraband found inside the county jail, the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n
In a Facebook post, the Lavaca County Sheriff\u2019s Office said that \u201con today\u2019s date a short while ago,\u201d arrest warrants were served on inmates Thomas Presley Knight and Ryan Lee Knesek. The sheriff\u2019s office said Knight and Knesek are charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and prohibited substance in a correctional facility, which it described as second- and third-degree felonies, respectively.<\/p>\n
The sheriff\u2019s office said the charges are connected to an ongoing criminal investigation into contraband discovered inside the Lavaca County Sheriff\u2019s Office Jail. The investigation has already led to the arrests of Brandon Dearson, Tyler Miller and Keith Woods, the post said.<\/p>\n
The continuing investigation is being conducted by the DPS Texas Rangers and Lavaca County Sheriff\u2019s Office investigators, with assistance from the Lavaca County Attorney\u2019s Office, according to the sheriff\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
