{"id":407096,"date":"2026-08-15T05:20:16","date_gmt":"2026-08-15T05:20:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/407096\/"},"modified":"2026-08-15T05:20:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T05:20:16","slug":"two-jail-inmates-charged-in-connection-with-contraband-smuggling-investigation-continues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/407096\/","title":{"rendered":"Two jail inmates charged in connection with contraband smuggling, investigation continues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HALLETTSVILLE, Texas &#8211; Arrest warrants have been served on two current Lavaca County Sheriff\u2019s Office jail inmates as investigators continue looking into contraband found inside the county jail, the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n<p>In a Facebook post, the Lavaca County Sheriff\u2019s Office said that \u201con today\u2019s date a short while ago,\u201d arrest warrants were served on inmates Thomas Presley Knight and Ryan Lee Knesek. The sheriff\u2019s office said Knight and Knesek are charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and prohibited substance in a correctional facility, which it described as second- and third-degree felonies, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The sheriff\u2019s office said the charges are connected to an ongoing criminal investigation into contraband discovered inside the Lavaca County Sheriff\u2019s Office Jail.
