SAN ANTONIO – Firefighters quickly put out a small fire at a one-story home, limiting damage and ensuring everyone inside \u2014 including two dogs \u2014 got out safely.<\/p>\n
Around 3:20 p.m. on Friday, firefighters responded to calls for a structure fire at a small home near the corner of Westwood Drive and Breeden Street.<\/p>\n
Crews responded to a single-alarm call and arrived to find what appeared to be a minor incident. \u201cWe got a single alarm for a uh, a one-story house, and it looked like there wasn’t a lot of fire involvement,\u201d a firefighter at the scene said. \u201cIt looked like it could have been possibly what we call a food on the stove or a small contents fire.\u201d<\/p>\n
Firefighters knocked down the fire and put it out, with \u201clittle, little minor damage to the house,\u201d the firefighter said. Two dogs were inside the home and were pulled out by crews, then taken to a neighbor\u2019s house.<\/p>\n
The homeowners later arrived at the scene. No one was hurt. \u201cNo injuries, no injuries to the firefighters, to the dogs,\u201d the firefighter said.<\/p>\n
Crews planned to ventilate the home to clear out smoke and remove whatever burned.
