HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A burglary suspect was found dead in a flipped-over car after police say he fled from officers in The Heights.<\/p>\n

According to the Houston Police Department, a security guard at the Lenox Timbergrove apartment complex on West 11th Street near Ella spotted someone breaking into vehicles and called 911.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived, police said the suspect turned off his lights to avoid being seen.<\/p>\n

Police said they followed the suspect out of the garage and put on their emergency lights and sirens to pull the suspect over.<\/p>\n

The driver then sped away, and officers lost sight of the vehicle, police said.<\/p>\n

Officers said they later found the vehicle flipped over and on fire. The person was found dead inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n

An investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
