SAN ANTONIO – A woman was critically injured early Saturday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 10 in San Antonio, according to police.<\/p>\n
The incident happened around 1:29 a.m. near I-10 and Wurzbach Parkway<\/p>\n
According to the San Antonio Police Department, the woman was running in the northbound lanes of the highway, where pedestrians are prohibited.<\/p>\n
The driver of a white Audi spotted the woman and was able to stop in time to avoid hitting her. A Toyota Camry traveling behind the Audi then crashed into the rear of the Audi.<\/p>\n
The impact redirected the Camry onto the left shoulder, where it struck the woman. She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n
Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
