HOUSTON \u2014 A reported bomb threat involving a Southwest Airlines flight at William P. Hobby Airport left some passengers stuck aboard planes for hours Saturday night as Houston police and K9s responded.<\/p>\n
Houston Airports confirmed the reported threat Saturday evening but has not said which Southwest flight was involved.<\/p>\n
The airport appeared to be operating normally later Saturday night, but several passengers reached out to KHOU 11 describing lengthy waits aboard their planes while the investigation was underway.<\/p>\n
Among those passengers was Nashville Vice Mayor Angie Henderson, who said her flight to Nashville appeared to be directly impacted.<\/p>\n
Henderson said passengers were stuck on the tarmac for more than two hours before they were eventually allowed to deplane five at a time. She said Houston police and K9s were there sniffing bags as passengers got off the plane.<\/p>\n
KHOU 11 also spoke with a woman who was deplaned from a flight headed to Tucson. She said she saw police going from gate to gate and checking with TSA.<\/p>\n
Houston Airports earlier said the Houston Police Department was investigating the reported bomb threat and that Hobby remained operational.<\/p>\n
HPD initially told KHOU 11 that officers were responding to a reported “general hazard” after receiving a call around 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
As of Saturday night, authorities had not publicly identified the Southwest flight involved or said what investigators found.<\/p>\n
