Like Figo Sugo, the concept is built around high\u2011quality, Italian\u2011style fast\u2011casual food, but with a stronger emphasis on whole pies, pasta, and a neighborhood takeout format.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe thought we could bring another option to the table for the community, for them to be able to walk here and to have an affordable option,\u201d Mendez said. \u201cOur long term goal is to really embrace the community. They\u2019ve been very kind to us. We went to the Civic Association meeting, and introduced ourselves, and everybody was really excited to have another food option.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The \u201cstation\u201d name and train\u2011car setting are intentional nods to the area\u2019s rail history and to the nearby Lockwood\/Eastwood METRORail station, reinforcing the East End\u2019s industrial and transit heritage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Upon opening, Eastwood Station rapidly generated buzz for its distinctive venue and specialized menu. Its most popular dishes revolve around its Roman\u2011style pizza al taglio, handmade pastas, standout sandwiches and small plates. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside the pizza, the handmade pasta program gets consistent praise, with lumache and mafaldine. The short rib lasagna bites are highly regarded as are its meatball hoagie, chicken parm, and AB sandwich. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eastwood Station is now open at 4109 McKinney Street.
