The official high was 96 degrees, some 3 degrees above the average for this time of year. Fortunately, we did not approach the Lubbock record of 104 degrees set in 1943.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">We will continue with afternoon highs in the 90s and some 100s over the South Plains on Monday.
