SAN ANTONIO – An 18-year-old is dead and another is recovering after three gunmen opened fire outside a Northwest Side apartment complex early Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n
The shooting happened just after midnight at the Woodhill Apartments off Woodstone Drive near Interstate 10.<\/p>\n
Both victims were 18 years old and were outside the apartment complex when police say three people got out of a Toyota 4Runner and opened fire.<\/p>\n
One of the teens was shot in the torso, while the other was struck in the lower body. Both were taken to a hospital.<\/p>\n
The teen shot in the torso later died from his injuries. The other victim was initially reported to be in stable condition.<\/p>\n
Police said all three gunmen took off in the 4Runner after the shooting. Investigators later found the SUV abandoned and discovered it had been stolen.<\/p>\n
Investigators at the scene also found shell casings from both a handgun and a long rifle in front of Building 18 at the apartment complex.<\/p>\n
Police have not released descriptions of the three suspects or said what may have led to the shooting.<\/p>\n
